Steward succeeds current chief executive Ian Johnston effective 19 May, 2025.
Steward will head the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), which is the financial services regulator of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Prior to the appointment Steward was executive director of enforcement and market oversight at the UK FCA, chair of the UK regulator’s market policy comittee as well as executive director of its international division.
