Louise Mogensen, Director General of Datatilsynet (the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority), has been elected to the Board of Directors of the European Banking Authority (EBA).
The EBA is an independent EU authority, and works to strengthen financial stability and to build trust in the banking sector, as well as protecting consumers and to ensure fair treatment in the sector.
The Board determines the authority’s strategic direction and priorities in order to ensure a uniform and stable banking system for the benefit of businesses and customers in the EU.
Louise Mogensen has been elected for a term until 2027, and her first board meeting will be in Paris on February 28.
“I look forward to contributing to the board’s work, and it will be exciting to bring my experience from Datatilsynet’s executive board into play in this context. I will particularly work to ensure that we have stronger and more effective supervision of European banks through simpler regulation,” said Mogensen.
She holds a Master of Science in Political Science, and some of her earlier jobs include positions at Forenet Kredit, Nationalbanken, Finans Danmark and the Ministry of Business and Industry.
Mogensen joined the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority as Director in 2023.
